These paintings were formerly only available to view by residents or guests of Penmorfa, or Gogarth Abbey Hotel as it was known for some time. Painted at the end of the ninetenth century by Buckley Ousey, they were mounted in huge oak panels in the large L-shaped drawing room of Penmorfa until just before its demolition in 2008.
There are 47 oil paintings in this collection, all of which have been rescued and are in need of renovation. We are currently displaying those that are in an acceptable condition – the paintings not yet shown are in need of greater renovation.
